Safe and comfortable accommodation is as important as choosing the school you are attending, and it is the foundation for a happy life and efficient learning. This is why we have a high standard of accommodation for students studying in the South Island of New Zealand.
• An approved host family
• A student apartment
• Parents or close relatives with the consent of the school and guardian
If you are 13 or older, we recommend that you live in a host family as this will provide you with a unique cultural and English learning experience.
Your school will choose your host family carefully. There are many different types of families and communities in the South Island of New Zealand.
When you choose to live in a host family your school takes the responsibility for your safety on behalf of the New Zealand National Ministry of Education.
Some public schools in the South Island of New Zealand also provide a school hostel for international students. The student apartment is a good place for international students to meet friends with similar interests, as well as a platform to practice English and explore different cultures.
If your parents or close relatives are also in New Zealand while you are studying, you can choose to live with them. In that case, your parents or close relatives will be responsible for your safety.
We hope that you can truly feel at home. The International director of our school will ensure that you are satisfied with your host family.
Upon arrival in New Zealand's South Island, your International director will check the suitability of your accommodation to your needs. They are responsible for checking the quality of study accommodations, but this does not include accommodation provided by parents or relatives.
